I survived “Dullsville”, outside of New Haven CT until I was 18. There was a hunger in me for something more spacious and wild. It was my move to Colorado in 1979 that put my world in perspective. Alpine tundra, brilliant blue skies, and the freedom to roam unhindered became my calling.
I’ve supported my love for photography and travel by working seasonally in the hotel and resort industry. The 30 years of road miles inspired me to publish my first book, “Visions of the West”. It expresses the places and the spaces that resonate with my heart. In 2005 I went on assignment with the State of Colorado Park Service photographing the 12 southwestern parks of the San Juan Mountains.
My greatest joy is traveling with shelter dogs and capturing their remarkable antics in the wild. My next book is a coffee table dog book entitled “Journeys of the Heart”. It depicts all the beautiful alpine splendors I’ve been able to photograph and explore with these wondrous canines.
Currently, I’ve been focused on horse photography and the beautiful ranches of the Telluride and Ridgway area. Living simply and surrounded by beauty are essential to my well being. For me, being “on location” in southwestern Colorado is as good as it gets.
